Since my work attire is casual, I almost find it harder to get dressed in the morning. I feel like I wear the same colored denim over and over. Indian Summer Night Out

September can be an awkward month clothing wise. Here in NYC, it's been in the high 70s to mid 50s, and I am just as confused as the next person as to what I am going to put on. Long sleeved dresses and booties have been working well for me . It's still warm enough to wear a dress, but the booties add a little fall flare. Hints of Emerald

I cannot express how excited I am that the weather is finally turning a little crisper and soon the leaves will change to beautiful reds, yellows and oranges. So it got me thinking about one of my favorite colors to wear in the fall and throughout the winter season; emerald. It's incredibly rich and vibrant  ( and my birthstone!)  and it gives off an expensive look, but you can find some affordable pieces for less. Browsing some colored accessories since I need to break away from my beloved golds, I thought I would start incorporating a little emerald city into my life.

Sometimes those designer duds are totally worth the splurge. I think I tell myself that more often than not, but the point here is that you can get some bling and bang for your buck. Remember when Katie Holmes first debuted a pair of her ex-hubby Tom Cruise's old worn in jeans a few years back? At first everyone was like, ehh? But then the fad quickly caught on and I  (along with many others) have been hooked ever since. It's no secret how much I love wearing my boyfriend jeans. I would wear them everyday if I could. After an appointment in the heart of Soho, I decided I am never there enough and should take the opportunity to walk around and do some browsing and when I say browsing I mean purchasing. 

TopShop is always bustling with the trendy down town crowd grabbing the latest leather and peplum finds. Strolling around the store, too lazy to try anything on, I spotted this unreal diamond collar necklace. I have been dying for a collar type bib necklace, and it's like TopShop answered my prayers with the Peter Pan necklace. Once I got home I looked for more of these collars online and there are quite a few I would like to get my hands on this fall!

NASTY GAL

Now that summer is over and the city is packed there are a few events coming up this fall that I will need to be properly dressed  What better than a dress that fits the budget? Nastygal has the bang for your buck. I am kind of obsessed with the red maxi & the Victoria printed mini. All of them are fall friendly with the exception of 5 & 6 that I snuck in, due to it still being September. Shop these looks below!

Weekend Snaps

 From Thursday's FNO, to Saturday's brunch and top influencer's party, I barely managed to run home to see my family and sneak in my first pumpkin spice latte (it was like drinking in fall). On FNO, I was determined to wait in line to check out the opening of Piperlime down in soho. With a huge selection of shoes and corner's of "Rachel Zoe's Picks" and "Girl on a Budget" it was the entire website at my finger tips.

Making my way over to WINK and Intermix the color trend Oxblood was everywhere. From jeans to shoes to blazers, it's safe to say you should probably scoop this color up before it sells out. I finally made it to my last stop Mercer Kitchen (I needed provisions after fighting through the crowd) where my friend's and I dined on roasted red pepper turkey burgers, kale salad and shrimp cocktail.

Saturday, Chrissy and I brunched at Pastis and later that evening made our way over to the ASOS Rewardstyle top influencers party, where we finally met Sally and Molly from A Piece of Toast! The girls were dressed incredibly well and where the epitome of southern sweetness. The highlight of the event, was playing dress up with all the amazing jewelry provided by Charm & Chain one of our absolute favorite sites for amazing gems.

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and the weather is finally cooling off ! (jackets and booties anyone!?)

Having only been in my new apartment for a few months, I am already itching to change things up. Step one (for now) is to create a gallery wall  with family photos and adding some new artwork in my bathroom, bedroom and eating area. The first place I decided to look was on Pinterest. I figured it was easiest to look at who Chrissy & I follow and see what artwork they had pinned that I haven't seen.

When looking at A Piece Of Toast's art board, the girls had pinned a brightly colored map called prettymaps.  Prettymaps, by Aaron Straupe Cope immediately caught my eye- a perfect print for the bathroom! With multiple locations, it's a fun way to display a favorite place you've visited or a place that holds a special memory. I live in NYC, went to school in Boston and have very fond memories of my trips to Paris, so those three made sense.  Anymore artwork suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Color Me Happy: Oxblood

Cap It

Cap toed shoes are coming back into style - and are affordable! Whenever I think of cap toe, I think of the classic Chanel ballet flat (still on my wish list!). But from Jeffrey Campbell to J.Crew, designers are coming out with fun ways to play wtih the cap toe. A touch of metallic, embellishment or color block is all we need to cap off the fall!

Below are some of my favorite cap toed shoes. I am obsessed with the Jeffrey Campbell's. They come in black as well! For a bit of splurge the Giuseppe Zanotti Cap Toe flats are perfect to wear to work & play. With a little embellishment on top, they can add a little spice to your skinnies! And of course Yosi Samra. I am guilty of owning three pairs of Yosi's because they are so comfy and they fold up easily to throw in your bag. Yosi cap toes also come in a variety of colors!
