Day to Night

Just a simple outfit with some extra glam pieces that easily transfers from a day look to a night look. I love coated denim right now and seem to be scooping up pairs left and right. My trick is to always buy a size up. I don't know why but every pair of coated denim I've tried on seems to run small...Either that or I have packed on a few lbs lately. I also love spiked jewelry and recently just splurged on the CC Skye punk princess bracelet. I bought it in the gun metal color but really wanted the gold! It seems to be sold out everywhere! You can also never go wrong with a pretty silk blouse and right now Topshop seems to have some great ones...

Spring into spring with these vibrant Italian ballet flats from JCrew. Suede, leather, pony hair, embellished, you name it they have it! I have my eye on the Cece Suede Purple Orchid (middle row far right) and Jayne T-strap ballet (below). They are easy to wear to work and are a fun way to add color for spring.

Weekend Snapshots: Intermix

Over the weekend, I finally got to walk around SoHo. After my bar method class, I hit all my favorite SoHo shops, Wink, Intermix, Tibi, Rag&Bone just to name a few. It seemed as though every single window was calling my name and the second I walked in I was lusting after everything. Tibi's Resort 2012 is absolutely amazing and will need its own post, but below are just a few snaps of what I lusted after in Intermix. Clearly got caught up in the shoe selection. Sad story I walked out empty handed but for these babies I need to save! Maybe Missoni will grace my feet come May. Be prepared to be depressed after seeing these gorgeous shoes..

May not be everyone's taste but I really like studs. This is a pretty cool waist belt from BCBG, perfect with the white maxi below!

Might be the last person to jump on the bandage skirt train, but it has happened and I love it. I chose to go for a safe color, the Simone Textured Power Skirt in beige which happens to go with just about anything. And this peachy colored Abree Relaxed Blazer looks amazing on. It has just the right shoulder padding and draping in front. Great buy. All from BCBG who knew? (They actually have great stuff out right now!)

Ten Over Ten

While traveling this weekend, and obviously reading a million magazines to get me up to date, I came across a seriously luxe salon in NYC. Ten Over Ten offers hard to find polish brands (like Chanel or they're custom made shades) and has an IPAD at every seat! Drying your nails will now be entertaining! What is intriguing about Ten Over Ten is that it's a social atmosphere, more like a swanky apartment that includes salon services with vintage light fixtures and limestone slabs. Safe to say I will be making my way down there this weekend and will report back. I am already thinking of what color to get, which is a really serious decision..

Parmesan Roasted Broccoli with Pine Nuts

Trying to incorporate more green into my life so I started experimenting with spicing up the typical veggie side. I got bored with just steaming my veggies, I needed a little more excitement, so I found this recipe on Food Gawker and tried it out with my lemon tilapia. It did not disappoint AT ALL...so here we go..

4-5  pounds of broccoli (I felt like this was a lot so I just eyed how much I was using)

4  garlic cloves, peeled and thinly sliced

olive oil (tiny bit!)

1 1/2 tsp salt (but I skipped this to be healthier!)

2 tsp grated lemon zest

2 tbl freshly squeezed lemon

3 tbl pine nuts toasted

1/3 cup grated Parmesan

2 tbl basil (about 12 leaves)

Preheat oven to 425 degrees.

Cut the broccoli florets from the thick stalks, leaving an inch or two of stalk attached to the florets. You should have about 8 cups of florets.

Place the florets on a sheet pan large enough to hold them in a single layer. Toss the garlic on the broccoli, and drizzle olive oil, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.

Roast for 20-25 minutes, units crisp and tender (tips of florets should be lightly browned)

Remove the broccoli from the oven and immediately toss with 1 1/1 tbl olive oil, lemon zest, pine buts, Parmesan and basil. Serve hot & enjoy!!

Organize: Makeup Brushes

Currently my makeup brushes are crammed into a clear organizer (meant for teeny bopper makeup) that is not pretty nor functional. I have come across several pictures using mason jars or candles (when the wax is done and has been cleaned) as makeup brush holders. I think this idea is actually really cool and simple. Pick your favorite scent, use your candle and when done use it as a decorative organizer. Looks pretty chic to me! Will probably be heading to Anthropologie after work to snag my candles..

Also from Anthropologie,  Charlie Gardner candles smell amazing! But if you do not want to wait for your candle then I suggest the hurricane above. They just look prettier than my weird clear case.

Office Space

In my dream home I fully intend on having an AMAZING closet and a little nook designated for my blogging and lacquered furniture which I will come to call my "office" complete with brightly colored art and a posh light fixtures. Here a few work spaces I have come across and seriously envy. I particularly love the office spaces near or inside the closet since that is where most of my inspiration comes from!

Pastels are coming back with a roar! Current Elliott has come out with a pair skinny jeans with a faint leopard print just enough so it's not tacky. The pastel colors are why I like these so much. I chose to show you the jeans and then someone actually wearing them just to see how they would look with shoes and a casual sweater and a pop color bag. I am really liking this look but still a little hesitant to purchase online...perhaps a pit stop at Saks? All of these colors are available now at Saks & Net-A-Porter. 

How to Pack

Tomorrow afternoon I am off to the desert! I will be hiking, horseback riding and exploring my way around Scottsdale, Arizona with a few of my closest friends. We have all been discussing what to pack and me being a constant over-packer (options!) came across this incredibly easy packing chart. It really is the the best way to pack and leaves you with plenty of options, but not too many, color and accessories. Hopefully I will not go over the weight limit at the airport!

I first spotted these beauties on one of my all time faves, Gwyneth Paltrow, in Country Strong and ever since I have been snagging them up and piling them on my wrists.
